How many Christian songs and books talk about "having faith like child?" If only it was easy to do as an adult.

This post is absolutely beautiful. I have a book that I love to read when I need a pick-me-up ""Wonderful Ways to Love a Child" by Judy Ford. One exercpt is entitled "Cherish the Innocence" and it begins like this:

"Have you ever held a sleeping baby in your arms? Felt a baby curl its tiny hand around your finger? Heard those gurglin coos of contentment? Did you ever change a diaper of a squirming, laughing baby? Has a baby patted your cheek and pulled at your nose? If so, you are blessed, for you have been touched by innocence."

Yes, children are God's number one blessing to all parents.

What an interesting evening that must have been for you. Joey's mind surely was on overload as he went to bed that night. I love listening to children and how they rationalize everything. It just puts everything into perspective. We worry about bills, and work, and money and what is happening tomorrow.....when all we really need to worry about is what happening right now in the minds of our children. Then help us simplify it all and see what is most important. They enjoy every little thing around them and can make a story out of the smallest detail. We all need to take time to enjoy every detail around us. Thank you for once again showing us how these little moments are so important. Joey deserves a big thank you as well.
I wish "gators and sharks" to all of you.
Love, April

Gosh, how inspiring. It is funny how children are able to put into words what God is trying to tell us. We adults always try to complicate God's word. I find it very refreshing to read how Joey puts it in such plain words, "Just imagine if he didn’t bring us anything, there would be no earth. There would be no us. And we wouldn’t really know what we were doing. We would be dead. Our brains would be gone. We wouldn’t be living. Wouldn’t that be scary?" Absolutely brilliant!! This must make you so proud of Joey. You and John are doing a wonderful job. This needs and should be your source of strength and determination in your fight against cancer. Just as Joey said, without God, "There would be no us. And we wouldn’t really know what we were doing. We would be dead. Our brains would be gone. We wouldn’t be living. Wouldn’t that be scary?"

You are the fastest typer ever if Joey talks as fast as Aaren does! Well done!

That was awesome and inspiring. They speak the truth and have complete faith in so many things. I wish I could have heard him and that I would have typed a few of the "God" conversations I have heard over the last year. Children are God's angels reminding us of the message that matters most. They are a gift - pure and true.

Also, don't ever think for a moment that your kids are not listening. They hear everything, they just choose to listen to what they want. This great story is proof of that. Gotta love them kids!

Congratulations Jackie on having such a great family and for appreciating the most important things in life. You have no doubts what you are living and fighting for and that is a true blessing. Take care and keep the great quotes coming!!! Hope to see you soon. Thanks for sharing your life with us and teaching us along ythe way of the important things in life.

I'll bet Joey's pre-school Bible study class is one interesting room! You should probably send the teacher some flowers! :)

How nice that in this conversation there was no mention of the "C" word. Hopefully that means your disease is no longer always on his mind... any more than it is on yours.

I admire that you have kept religion and faith as such a strong part of your boys' daily life. G.G. would be very proud of you all. In fact, it sounds like a bit of G.G.'s words mixed in with Joey's.

Love to all,
Renee

Out of the mouthes of babes comes the simple truth. How beautifully put ! God has been talking, and Joey has been listening. If only we adults didn't make life so complicated. Thank you, Joey for reminding me of God's plan and His works !
