If only it was easy to do as an adult. This post is absolutely beautiful. I have a book that I love to read when I need a pick-me-up ""Wonderful Ways to Love a Child" by Judy Ford. One exercpt is entitled "Cherish the Innocence" and it begins like this: "Have you ever held a sleeping baby in your arms? Felt a baby curl its tiny hand around your finger? Heard those gurglin coos of contentment? Did you ever change a diaper of a squirming, laughing baby? Has a baby patted your cheek and pulled at your nose? If so, you are blessed, for you have been touched by innocence." Yes, children are God's number one blessing to all parents. Joey's mind surely was on overload as he went to bed that night. I love listening to children and how they rationalize everything. It just puts everything into perspective. We worry about bills, and work, and money and what is happening tomorrow.....when all we really need to worry about is what happening right now in the minds of our children. Then help us simplify it all and see what is most important. They enjoy every little thing around them and can make a story out of the smallest detail. We all need to take time to enjoy every detail around us. Thank you for once again showing us how these little moments are so important. Joey deserves a big thank you as well. It is funny how children are able to put into words what God is trying to tell us. We adults always try to complicate God's word. I find it very refreshing to read how Joey puts it in such plain words, "Just imagine if he didn‚Äôt bring us anything, there would be no earth. There would be no us. And we wouldn‚Äôt really know what we were doing. We would be dead. Our brains would be gone. We wouldn‚Äôt be living. Wouldn‚Äôt that be scary?" Absolutely brilliant!! This must make you so proud of Joey. You and John are doing a wonderful job. This needs and should be your source of strength and determination in your fight against cancer. Just as Joey said, without God, "There would be no us. And we wouldn‚Äôt really know what we were doing. We would be dead. Our brains would be gone. We wouldn‚Äôt be living.
