I really like all the unique gifts but as a teacher I was looking in the teacher gifts and really thought the chalkboard coasters were especially neat. You could use these a lot of different ways in the classroom.

Lots of nice gifts. I like the full moon earrings. I also like the “heal” plaque that you mentioned in a previous post.

  8. Hi!

I’m writing from StoryCorps, America’s largest nonprofit national oral history project. I thought you and your blog readers would be interested in listening to StoryCorps’ latest story to broadcast on NPR this morning. Dottie Copeland, who discovered that she had breast cancer 10 years ago, talks with her daughter Tina Nelson about living with the disease and learning to fight for her life. You can take a listen here (about 4 minutes): http://www.storycorps.org/listen/stories/dottie-copeland-and-her-daughter-tina-nelson.

StoryCorps is an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to honor and celebrate one another’s lives through listening. Since 2003, tens of thousands of people from across the country have interviewed family and friends through StoryCorps. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to take home and share and is also archived for generations to come at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. Millions listen to the award-winning broadcasts on public radio and the Internet. Select stories have also been published in the New York Times bestselling book, Listening Is an Act of Love.

I hope you take the time to listen and share.

    Thanks,
    Amber Leigh

Dawn you are so creative in all that you provide patients and receivers. It is clear your heart and soul are in each detail; I also like that you catered to non traditional families. Cute “I love my Mommies” frame!

I just used Out of The Blue Delivered services last week for the first time. A friend of mine had lost her Father unexpectedly. I knew I wanted to send something special that she could keep forever – Dawn knew exactly what to send and my friend received it the same day! I highly recommend Out of The Blue Delivered for those “life moments” that mean a little more than flowers.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer June 13, 2008. My hair was blonde and straight like yours – now still so very short but really dark and curly – so hoping it will go back to blond like yours – gives me hope to know it might. Love you blog. Item I really loved was the hug shrug. God bless.

  14. First: Fave item on “Out of the Blue Delivered” – Card Cubby – all those store discount cards with no place to go!

Jackie – yours was the first blog I read after being diagnosed with breast cancer on March 11, 2009. You helped me to find the strength to go through this and also to start my own blog. I especially appreciated “What-breast-cancer-looks-like”.

I also appreciate your recent posts bringing attention to different current issues in breast cancer.
