What else? After losing his mother to pancreatic cancer, Victor M. Kasatshko designed and trademarked the Life symbol to be a sign of power and hope because the “living of life” should serve as the theme for all awareness campaigns and causes.
“The intriguing aspect of the Life symbol is that its meaning is different to each and every person that comes in contact with it according to that person’s experiences in their own life. To some it may bring a tear to their cheek, while to others it may bring a big smile since they ‘beat’ the disease.” — Victor M. Kasatshko

So many women are affected by Cancer – it’s hard not to be touched in some way by this terrible disease. I love the DoLife symbol; it really does speak to me in positive and living terms.

Hi Jacki,
This past Sunday the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center, the nation’s fourth largest cancer center, brought together more than 1,000 cancer survivors to celebrate their “freedom from cancer” on Ellis Island. It was an invitation-only event for current and former patients, and festivities included a special performance by Le Cirque de la Liberté, tours of Ellis Island Museum and ferries to the Statue of Liberty.
As a top cancer blogger, I thought you might be interested in writing a post on this. We have a great photo of all the survivors gathered together that I’m happy to attach. In the link, you’ll find connections to their social media sites where you can find out even more info about the event.
I’m happy to answer any questions about the event or JTCC.
Thanks,
Rob Ungar
