This is so very awesome — a free summer camp run by college students for kids with a parent who has (or has had) cancer. Don’t know a whole lot about the camp, but it’s called Camp Kesum, it’s offered in several states (Florida!), and, well, click on the link, see for yourself, then pass it on!

Hi Jacki,
I came across your blog and i love how positive and inspirational you are! My mother was diagnosed in 2003 with Stage 3 breast cancer and almost 8.5 years later she is doing and feeling great!I am on the other hand not so much. I am 28 and was just recently diagnosed with colon cancer. I just finished my first chemo treatment a week ago! I am looking forward to finishing all 12 treatments (11 now) and closing this chapter of my life!
Stay well!
F.

Best wishes to you, F, on your bounce-back from cancer. Hang in there, and keep stopping back to share how you are doing! Congrats to your mom, too!

Just diagnosed on 3/14 with breast cancer. So far (until surgery) it looks like grade 2 and stage 1. Invasive mammary carcinoma with somehow involves ducts and lobules and it stuck somewhere in between, though first dr indicted ductal. Went for 2nd opinion and actually headed to Vanderbilt this week for sort of a 3rd opinion. I am 42. I am just struggling with decision whether to go with lumpectomy or more. I’ve read many posts and just wondering if you could tell me mor about your diagnosis(couldnt find details) and how you feel these days?
Thanks for your time. And thanks for the info you have provided in your writings/blog posts. It is so helpful!
