I know I’m not around here much anymore. I apologize if you keep coming back hoping to find new content and inspiration. It’s just that I’ve been working, and, now, I spend much of my time over at Just Edits — my new-since-March one-stop edit shop, “where you hire me to clean up your copy, and I teach you tips and tricks sure to make you look super smart.” Please bookmark me at justedits.org, and stop in anytime — you won’t find much in the way of breast cancer material, but I will tell you exactly how to use periods with closing quotation marks and how to properly place apostrophes for last names that end in s. Come “Like” me at Facebook, too.
Breast cancer — important stuff, yes, and I promise to come back when I’ve got meaningful stuff to say. Proper grammar — pretty important, too, I think, and that’s why I’m making a career out of correcting the written and spoken mistakes of the world. Well, some of them, anyway.

Hi Jacki,
I stumbled across your blog because I’m looking for breast cancer survivors to interview for a feature article I’m writing for Cure magazine (www.curetoday.com). I was doubly inspired to write because I’m also a professional editor (LOVE “Eats, shoots and leaves”).
I wonder if you might be willing to chat with me by phone about your experiences with breast cancer, your treatment, side effects, how you coped, etc. If you’re not familiar w/ Cure, I would encourage you to check it out — it’s a terrific resource (I’ve written for them before if you care to check out past work).
So you’re aware…Cure prints first and last names in their stories. If that’s OK with you, I’d love to talk. You can reach me at heather_vanepps@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you!!
Heather
PS – Happy to answer any questions you might have before deciding.

Always love your support, KD. I was reading back over really, really old blog comments last night, and you have always shared such encouragement and concern. Thank you
