My curls I don’t mind so much…BUT chemo has apparently given me the bones of a 110 year old:( In the past 9 months, I’ve had 3 broken ribs (with no cause), a stress reaction in my femur, and now a stress fracture in my fibula AND in my 3rd metatarsal. WTH?! All my PET scans, bone scans, and MRIs have come back ok on the cancer-front and my bone density has always showed normal. I have no idea what’s going on, but I am running LESS than I ever have and all on the treadmill to try and minimize impact to my joints and body. I am about to lose my mind. And just to reiterate: I hate cancer.
Yes, it’s great to be alive, right? But the side effects can be pretty crappy! I am sorry to hear about your bone issues. My sob story at the moment is tummy troubles, which way outweighs the curl saga. Had blood drawn today and will have two more tests to try to determine what’s going on. It’s likely a messed-up system from chemo drugs. Uugh.
Chemo was done 6 months ago……my joint pain has gotten worse every month that has passed! I can’t open pop bottles or wear my rings. I went for a blood test and an x-ray of my hands and wrists and am awaiting an appointment with a Rheumatologist to rule out Rheumatoid Arthritis. Thanks chemo!
